My love and career as a birth and newborn photographer has afforded me the opportunity to be in that birth space many many times to capture those sacred moments, and now I am so happy to have achieved another goal as a birthing coach “doula” and offer dual services. I want to introduce:
The birth of your baby will have a huge impact on your life, and having support is so valuable. As your doula I work for you. I offer childbirth education, referrals and resources. I provide physical support through massage, counter pressure, help with positioning and repositioning, as I anticipate your needs. I offer support to your partner with clear communication on what is happening at each stage of labor so he knows how best to offer support during this vulnerable time.
I supply emotional support through encouragement and honoring your birth preference and wishes and helping to empower you in making those decisions clear. Studies show continuous emotional and physical support benefits the laboring woman by helping ease stress by giving hands on guidance, reassurance, encouragement and confidence to help you and your partner have the best birth experience. I also offer two postpartum visits. Have you thought about adding a doula to your birth team?

“Dee Ann was very helpful and informative at our prenatal appointments, she offered useful pain management techniques during birth, she suggested useful emotional coping techniques for labor and birth, she worked well with my midwife and attended many of my appointments with me and helped with my son. Dee Ann was good directing us to good resources. She went the extra mile and went to the store for me, and she braided my hair during labor. She had the perfect amount of contact with me without being overbearing. She was wonderful! I felt so calm and encouraged with her. She was extremely nurturing to me. My mom lives out of state and having Dee Ann with me made me feel like my mom was with me. She is so loving and kind. I have been recommending her to my friends! My husband loved her too!! She was great helping and encouraging him!”
